Milling & Lathe Work

Manual machining for RC models, engineering projects, hobby work and custom components.

Custom Milling & Lathe Work

Need a one-off component, replacement part or small batch of custom-machined parts? Our workshop offers manual milling and lathe work for RC models, engineering projects, hobby builds and general fabrication requirements.

We can work from technical drawings, dimensions, sketches, samples or existing components, depending on the job. Whether you need a replacement part for an older RC model or a custom component for a project, we can assess your requirements and provide a quotation.

What We Can Machine

Manual MillingConventional milling work for producing accurate flats, slots, holes, pockets, profiles and other machined features.
Lathe WorkTurning work for shafts, bushes, spacers, pins, threaded components, cylindrical parts and other suitable components.
Replacement PartsReplacement and obsolete components where an original part is unavailable or difficult to source.
One-Off ComponentsCustom-made parts for individual projects, RC models, prototypes, repairs and modifications.
Small Batch WorkSmall quantities of repeat components can be produced where suitable for manual machining.
RC & Hobby ComponentsParts for RC cars, aircraft, boats, trucks and other hobby projects, subject to size, material and machining requirements.

Materials

We can work with a range of suitable engineering materials, including metals and engineering plastics, depending on the component and machining requirements.

Material suitability will be assessed for each job. If you already have the material required, let us know when requesting your quotation.

Ideal for RC Models & Hobby Projects

Our machining service is particularly useful for RC enthusiasts who need something that isn't readily available off the shelf.

  • Replacement RC components
  • Custom shafts and spacers
  • Mounting components
  • Brackets and mechanical parts
  • Repair components
  • Prototype parts
  • Older or discontinued model parts
  • Custom hobby project components

What We Need From You

To provide an accurate quotation, please send as much information about the component as possible.

Technical DrawingA dimensioned drawing is ideal where available.
DimensionsMeasurements of the required component can be used where no formal drawing exists.
SketchA clear hand-drawn sketch can be enough to start discussing a simple component.
Existing PartAn existing component can sometimes be used as a reference for a replacement.
MaterialTell us what material you require, or let us know what the component will be used for so we can discuss suitable options.

How It Works

1

Send Your Requirements

Send us your drawing, dimensions, sketch, photographs or details of the component you need.

2

We Assess the Job

We'll assess the component, material, machining requirements and whether it is suitable for our workshop.

3

Receive Your Quote

We'll provide a quotation based on the work involved, material and quantity required.

4

Machining

Once approved, we'll complete the work and let you know when your component is ready.

Pricing

Machining jobs vary considerably depending on the material, dimensions, tolerances, setup time, machining time and quantity required.

All milling and lathe work is quoted individually. Send us the details of your project and we'll assess the job and provide a quotation before any work is carried out.

Important Information

  • Machining suitability is assessed on a job-by-job basis.
  • Dimensions and drawings should be as accurate and complete as possible.
  • Very tight tolerances may require additional assessment.
  • Material suitability will depend on the component and its intended use.
  • We specialise in one-off, prototype and small-batch work rather than high-volume production.
  • All work is subject to quotation and workshop capacity.

Need a Custom Component?
